High-resolution X-band Synthetic Aperture Radar

TerraSAR-X is a new German radar satellite that has been launched on June 15, 2007. The scheduled lifetime is 5 years. It carries a high frequency X-band SAR sensor that can be operated in different modes (resolutions) and polarization.  TerraSAR-X operates in three different basic modes - the ScanSAR, Stripmap and Spotlight mode at a varying geometrical resolution between 1 and 16 meters. terrasar-x sample
