RapidEye

5 Satellite Multi-Spectral Remote Sensing Constellation

RapidEye is a constellation of 5 multi-spectral remote sensing satellites developed by Germany's RapidEye AG.  The satellites are equally spaced on a single orbit allowing any point on the Earth to be imaged daily.    RapidEye provides 5m pixel imagery in the standard blue, green, red and near-infrared bands and for the first time by a commercial satellite a red-edge band.  The red-edge band measures variances in vegetation allowing monitoring of vegetation health and species separation.rapideye sat
