Quickbird

High resolution satellite imager - 60 cm resolution

Quickbird ColdLakeQuickBird is the first DigitalGlobe satellite.  Launched in October 2001 the Quickbird spacecraft currently collects the world’s highest resolution multispectral commercial imagery of the Earth, and boasts the largest image size and the greatest on-board storage capacity of any other satellite.   The 60-centimeter resolution of QuickBird images allows objects on the ground as small as 60 centimetres – or two feet – across to be seen.   Since January 2002, QuickBird has collected and stored in its ImageLibrary hundreds of thousands of image scenes covering hundreds of millions of square kilometres.   The satellite collects an additional one million square kilometres each week.
