MODIS
Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer

MODIS
(Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) is as key
instrument onboard the Terra and Aqua satellites as part of NASA's
Earth Observing System (EOS).
MODIS provides 250m, 500m and 1000m imagery of the Earth in 36 spectral
bands from 0.4 µm to 14.4 µm. Between
the two satellites the MODIS instruments can image the entire Earth
every 1-2 days. The MODIS instruments were designed to
provide data on large-scale global dynamics in the oceans, on land and
in the lower atmosphere.
