Envisat

Europe's Multi-Sensor Earth Observation Satellite

Enivsat was launched by the European Space Agency (ESA) on March 1, 2002 to continue and improve upon the ERS satellites.  With 10 instruments onboard, Envisat provides measurements of the atmosphere, oceans, land and ice.  The Advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar (ASAR) instrument provides continuity with the SAR instruments of ERS-1/2 and provides enhanced coverage, incidence angle range, polarization and operation modes. envisat sample
