WorldView-2 Launches Oct 8, 2009

WorldView-2 is scheduled for launch October 8, 2009.  To view the live internet webcast, visit Boeing Launch Services on Thursday, October 8, 2009, at approximately 11:15am PDT.  The launch is scheduled for 11:38 am PDT.

Operating at an altitude of 770 kilometres, WorldView-2 will offer 0.4-meter panchromatic resolution and 1.8-meter multispectral resolution.  WorldView-2 will have an average revisit time of 1 day and will be capable of collecting up to 975,000 square kilometres (376,000 square miles) per day of half-meter imagery. WorldView-2 will incorporate the industry standard four multispectral bands (red, blue, green and near-infrared) and will also include four new bands (coastal, yellow, red edge, and near-infrared 2).
